There are a lot of tools out there to help you create wireframes but I’d recommend starting your wireframes on paper. It’s the fastest way to get you started with your designs and eliminating options that don’t work.

Wireframes are like blueprints for a website or app. Just like blueprints, they focus largely on functionality and layout. It helps the designer map out the final product with low fidelity drawings that are representative. Wireframes are also used to stimulate early feedback from stakeholders before a higher fidelity design is created.

When you start on paper you can punt decisions about fonts, colors, and other visual elements to later in your process. Wireframing on paper allows you to focus on the main aspect of design, how it works.
